SE Seattle Bus Tour - Reviews

9:19 PM
We received some very positive feedback on the bus tour sponsored by REAPS last week. I thought I would share some of the comments by attendees here in my blog:

"Thank you so much for all your hard work in putting together the SE Bus Tour!  My mom and I both really enjoyed the tour and we learned quite a bit!

My favorite part of the tour was driving through Seward Park and the Mt. Baker area.  I have lived in South Seattle all of my life, yet I had NEVER seen those areas before!  I had always heard the Rainer Valley area was crime infested and not a nice area to go wandering/sight seeing through.  The only real exposure I had previous to the tour was riding through on the light rail train in the last couple years, but I never got off and explored.  I had no idea there were so many beautiful parks and waterfront areas!  It really does seem to be an area of tremendous growth in the next several years.  I think it gave us a little spark because we've been looking/considering investing in multifamily, so SE Seattle may be the area we start looking to buy in the coming months/years.
If this becomes an annual event, we'll definitely want to consider a bigger bus!  But I think that's a good problem!  Also, the PA system malfunction was a bit distracting, though all the presenters seemed to handle it very well.  It would also be nice to have an itinerary for future tours with a route outlined (for those of us who are direction-impaired), and some stats about market rates & more "investment" type figures for the number nerds.  Perhaps in the future, we could get off the bus and tour a new construction project in the works, or a newly completed project with a local investor.

I would recommend the tour to others in the future.  It was great to hear about the history of the area from a variety people with such a wide knowledge base.  We got several different ideas and perspectives about what the area was and what it is becoming... great for people looking to invest in a local emerging market!
